New Designer: Karen Clements + Wonderful Pattern Giveaway

UPDATE: Some meany sent Karen an anonymous and threatening e-mail regarding her $500 giveaway. That's mean-spirited and toxic - especially to bully someone anonymously. As someone who has been bullied online before, I can tell you it really stinks! But my giveaway of her pattern still stands, so comment away! But Karen has pulled the contest in case this meany is for real. If you'd like to support her, she could use it! Go over here and give her a nice comment about her patterns, would you?

Hey, I'm doing my very first blog giveaway - a free pattern and a chance to win $500 in yarny goodness! Do you feel like knitting or crocheting any of these lovely pieces?

As I mentioned earlier, my friend Karen is closing her LYS. To launch her new foray into knitwear design, she is selling a variety of knitting and crochet patterns for $10 each here and on Ravelry. With each pattern purchase you also get a chance to win $500 worth of merchandise from the store's handpicked inventory. We're talking Malabrigo, Misti Alpaca, Addi Clicks, Jordana Paige knitting bags....the best of the best!

Here's how to enter.....

1) Go here and check out all of Karen's patterns.

2) Let me know which pattern is your favorite by commenting on this post by Thursday, February 11.

You can garner additional entries by doing any of the following:
  • Subscribe to this blog via the feeder or e-mail - in the upper right hand corner.
  • Blog about this giveaway - just send me a link via e-mail at trisha@ttwcreative.com.
  • Link to this blog.
Winners will be announced here on Friday, February 12.

I also love all the chunky knit designs, but realize I'm not built to wear them! However, I have three more great nieces and/or nephews due this year and so there is lots of baby knitting in my immediate future. I love the Wilhelmina's Baby Sweater pattern.

oh, and I subscribed to your feed (via google reader) a few weeks ago--Love the blog!--if that makes a difference.

was curious about your comment on wendy's site and came over to have a look. sounds like "anonymous" has some good points and she doesn't sound that mean-spirited or toxic.

I love her patterns. I wish sometimes that I had the patience to knit. My favorite pattern of hers is Misti Brioche Honeycomb Sweater. I may just buy it and convert it to crochet. Or I could use the new stitching I am learning from the Knit 1, Purl 2 Crochet book I am reading. Thanks for talking about this, now I get to go shopping on ravelry. :)

I'd love to do one of those chunky sweaters for myself, but I think my short torso rules me out. Wilhelmina's Baby Sweater, however - an adorable, simple baby sweater in worsed weight? Yes, please. It's so cute!

The Bubble Sleeve Sweater has such cool shape and while flat it does not show its potential, the model shot shows how the design plays with gravity and creates something really, really lovely and worth battling with big needles;)
